Every year many GREYHOUNDS go to play at the Rainbow Bridge. Some were pets, some were racers, some were show dogs, some were coursers, some were family, and some were all of those. These greyhounds are playing in a field with lots of other animals... no one is prey there. They play, and they are waiting... waiting for their loved ones to join them to cross the Rainbow Bridge.
Most of this site is dedicated to those GREYHOUNDS, but not this page.
This page is dedicated to the GREYHOUNDS who didn't make it to being a pet, family member, showdog, or courser. They weren't great racers, for one reason or another, but they tried. There are many reasons why they didn't make it... and each person has their own thoughts on this. These GREYHOUNDS don't cross the Rainbow Bridge alone, they play with all the other animals, and wait... for a special person... a person who has done all they could do to help this "breed of nobility". This person could be a kennel worker, an adoption volunteer, a veterinarian, even someone who never met a GREYHOUND, but this person did whatever they could do to help. When a person like that appears in this field, that person not only crosses the Rainbow Bridge with their own special friend(s), but is joined by some of the ones who didn't make it to a home. These GREYHOUNDS then become a family member to everyone.
This is their page! The eternal flame burns for them! Run with the wind!
Kristie Hett is one of those people spoken of above. Faced with the knowledge that her time was short, she set out to make sure her two Greyhounds, Rosemary and Sage, would have a loving home when she was gone. She wanted them to stay together, and they have found a new loving home. Kristie Hett gave her hounds the ultimate gift, that of loving them enough to make sure they would continue to be loved after she went to the Rainbow Bridge. It is an honor to dedicate this page in her memory. Rest In Peace Septmeber 3, 1998.
