All of our departed much beloved friends have left an open space in our lives
that is filled always to overflowing by new greyhound friends
whom we cherish to the deepest ability we know how.
The waiting list goes on and the bed is never cold for long
for these lovely cherished pets we call friends for as long as
they care to remain on the earth enriching our lives.
The greyhounds who have gone on stand watch from the hill above
my house and smile down on the new greyhound in town,
watching and protecting us all from their lofty final resting spot.
Each a wonder and a charm in their own right, they are with us forever.

Flying Neptune was a great racer.
He could outrun the best of them.
He sired many future racers.
But a group of people in Michigan will remember and miss him
because of how he touched their hearts after he retired,
not what he did on the track.
