Our dearest Deputy, you were one of a kind.
There is not a day that goes by, that I am not flooded with wonderful memories.
Even though, we only were able to feel your love for two and a half years,
you loved us from the start. You gave us everything, your love,
a lot of fun and terrific memories. I know you are running
and jumping at the bridge, and probably eating your weight in cookies.
We love you Dep, and we always will.

When Tomorrow Starts Without Me and I'm not there to see
If the sun should rise and find your eyes all filled with tears for me.
I wish so much you wouldn't cry the way you did today
While thinking of the many things we didn't get to say.
I know how much you love me, as much as I love you,
And each time that you think of me I know you'll miss me too
But when tomorrow starts without me please try to understand
That an angel came and called my name and took me by the hand
And said my place was ready in heaven far above
And that I'd have to leave behind all those I dearly love
But when I walked through heaven's gates I felt so much at home
When God looked down and smiled at me from His great golden throne
He said, "This is eternity and all I've promised you
Today for life on earth is past but here it starts anew.
I promise no tomorrow for today will always last,
And since each day's the same way there's no longing for the past.
So when tomorrow starts without me don't think we're far apart,
For every time you think of me I'm right here in your heart.

I will lend you for a little while my grandest dog he said. For you to love while she is alive and morn for when she is dead. It may be one or twenty years or days or months you see but will you take care of her for me?
She will bring her charms to gladden you and should her stay be brief you'll have treasured memories as solace for your grief.
I cannot promise she will stay since all from earth return but there are lessons taught on earth I want this dog to learn.
I have looked the wide world over in my search for teachers true and from the throngs that crowd life's lanes with trust I have chosen you.
Now will you give her your total love? Nor think the labor vain nor hate me when I come to take her back again?
I know you will give her tenderness and love will bloom each day and for the happiness you have forever grateful stay.
But should I come and call for her much sooner than you'd planned you will brave the bitter grief that comes and someday you will understand.

Spirit Dog
As the years pass and the pain fades,
Your memory I would not trade.
What a precious gift that God did give,
When he sent you here with me to live.
So many days when I'm feeling down,
I sense your calming presence around.
You were so many things to me,
Trust, comfort, hope, are but three.
I was never going to have another,
But it was obvious we needed each other.
Life goes on or so they say,
You were but one stop along the way.
But know that your memory lives,
It was a special gift for you to give.
I give it back every day,
In about a thousand ways.
The lost, the hurt, and all the strays,
They benefit from your loving ways.

You are greatly missed Pooh Bear.
I will never forget all the days we spent cuddling together.
Even though you came to me when you were 9 it seemed as if we knew each other forever.
Some day when we meet again my heart will be whole as it was when we first met.
I think about you everyday and wish you could be here.
Until we meet again, I love you, and I miss you.

Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.

Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message He Is Dead,
Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves,
Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.

He was my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last for ever: I was wrong.

The stars are not wanted now: put out every one;
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun;
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood.
For nothing now can ever come to any good.
W. H. Auden
