A Parting Prayer

Dear Lord, please open your gates
and call St. Francis
to come escort this beloved companion
across the Rainbow Bridge.

Assign him to a place of honor,
for he has been a faithful servant
and has always done his best to please me.

Bless the hands that send him to you,
for they are doing so in love and compassion,
freeing him from pain and suffering.

Grant me the strength not to dwell on my loss.
Help me remember the details of his life
with the love he has shown me.
And grant me the courage to honor him
by sharing those memories with others.

Let him remember me as well
and let him know that I will always love him.
And when it's my time to pass over into your paradise,
please allow him to accompany those
who will bring me home.

Thank you, Lord,
for the gift of his companionship
and for the time we've had together.

And thank you, Lord,
for granting me the strength
to give him to you now.

Amen.

Must
(Solomon Grit)

Lovingly missed by Judith Spangenberg
Born: August 11, 1992 ~~~ Crossed to the Bridge: January 15, 2008

Must (Solomon Grit) came to us at 3-1/2 and left at 15-1/2 years.
She became known to my young son as MustardCustard, and we all called her Mustard.
Sadly missed by her skin mom and dad, her skin-brother, and the kitties already.
She was indeed the best dog I could ever have had.
When my son Alex was 8, he sang to her:
"Mustard oh Custard oh pupper oh doober
I have a pupper with no sense of humor."
He is now in college, and wanted her to be forever.
She will be forever in our hearts.

Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.

Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message He Is Dead,
Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves,
Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.

He was my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last for ever: I was wrong.

The stars are not wanted now: put out every one;
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun;
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood.
For nothing now can ever come to any good.

Rerun (Evader)

Lovingly missed by Tina and Bob Wiepert
Born: April 18, 1995 ~~~ Crossed to the Bridge: April 19, 2007

Our snuggle buddy is gone.
A heart tumor took you from us on your human Dad's Birthday, the day after you turned 12.
Now you will forever be running free with your adoptive Sister Lambie Pie.
Our first adoptive furfriend, you honored us by sharing your life with us.
You are the best. More than words can ever say.
We cry many tears and in each we show the world how much love we have for you.
We miss all that we did, truck rides to see the
horses and cows, watching tv, naps just because, the memories will never end.
Our pumpkin, our BabyDog, our hero - The love and light of our lives.
Run free big boy.... run free.
One day we will all be together again.
Love for eternity Mom, Dad and adopted sister dog Cofax

Moe

There's sadness now, we cry, we weep,
Our big boy has gone to sleep.
It's quiet, yet we hear his sound,
His feet still dragging the ground.

He made all welcome, every girl, every boy,
Just the largest grin, then he'd fetch his toy.
He asked for nothing but gave his all,
Right to the end, to that final call.

When it's time for us to take that ride,
That fearful trip to the other side,
Our journey there will bear no strife,
we know he'll be waiting, as he was our life
